Our commitment
Korso aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA on korsoai.com, on the Korso sign-in pages and in the Korso desktop app for Windows and macOS. We also use the European standard EN 301 549, which includes WCAG, as a guide.
Korso partially conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Some parts do not meet it yet. They are listed below, under Known limitations.
How we test
We check accessibility ourselves. We use automated checks, and we test with the keyboard only and with screen readers. No third party has audited Korso for accessibility, and Korso has no accessibility certification.
What works
- Keyboard access. You can use the website and the sign-in pages with the keyboard only. Each page with a menu starts with a Skip to content link. In the app, keyboard shortcuts open Korso and start voice input. You can see and change them in Settings, under Keyboard shortcuts.
- Visible focus. The website and the sign-in pages show an outline around the control that has keyboard focus.
- Reduced motion. When reduced motion is on in your operating system, the pets and other animations on the website and the sign-in pages stay still. The Pause animations button in the website's footer stops them at any time. The app's cards follow the same setting.
- Text alternatives. Images that give information have a text alternative. Links and buttons that show only an icon have a name that screen readers read.
- Three languages in the app. The app and the sign-in pages are available in English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese. You can speak and dictate in 60 languages.
Known limitations
We know about these problems and are working on them:
- Screen readers may not announce streamed answers or approval cards in every build of the app yet.
- The tab at the edge of the screen cannot take keyboard focus. It is made for the mouse. To open Korso from the keyboard, use the keyboard shortcut.
- Some decorative demo illustrations on the website use text with low contrast. They are pictures of the app, screen readers skip them, and the text around them gives the same information.
- The app has no zoom setting of its own. To make text larger, use the display scaling of your operating system: on Windows, Settings, Display, Scale; on a Mac, System Settings, Displays.
- The website is in English only.
